Car wrap FAQ

Does a car wrap protect the original paint?

A vinyl wrap can shield sound paint from light surface wear and contamination, but it is not a substitute for PPF against stone chips. Choose between them by intended finish, vehicle use and the panels most exposed.

Wraps and PPF do different jobs

A wrap changes colour or finish and can reduce some light surface wear. PPF is the impact-focused option for exposed painted panels. A project can combine both, subject to paint condition, product compatibility and the order of work.

Choose coverage after inspection

Front bumpers, bonnet edges, mirrors, guards and sills face different risks from sheltered panels. Consider how the vehicle is driven and which areas matter most. A wrap cannot repair unstable paint or prevent every chip, dent or deep scratch.

Does paint condition matter before wrapping?

Yes. Peeling paint, unstable repairs and corrosion need assessment because film cannot make an unsound surface stable.

Can PPF and a wrap be used together?

They can be assessed as a coordinated project, subject to compatibility, paint condition and the planned order of work.
